Critics unloaded on voters and President Donald Trump after he announced support for displacing Gaza residents and relocating them somewhere else in the Middle East “like Egypt” or Jordan.
According to Trump, Palestinians “would be happy” to leave Gaza because it has been decimated by rubble.
“It’s a demolition site,” Trump said. “Palestinians have no alternative but to leave Gaza.”

“Look, the Gaza thing has not worked. It’s never worked. And I feel very differently about Gaza than a lot of people. I think they should get a good, fresh, beautiful piece of land. We’ll get some people to put up the money to build it and make it nice,” Trump said.
Palestinians have struggled for their own independent state for more than 60 years, with the roots of their displacement and loss of land dating back even further.
Critics on social media took voters and Trump to task in response to his remarks.
“Congratulations to all who voted for Trump because of Biden’s positions on Gaza,” said investigative journalist Sarah Posner.
“Trump still on board with Gaza ethnic cleansing,” said economics reporter Michael Derby.
“The president calls for ethnic cleansing, again,” agreed The Economist’s Shashank Joshi.
“Congratulations on a job well done to all the kids on college campuses who bravely stood up to Genocide Joe,” said Lincoln Project co-founder George Conway.
“For the love of humanity and all that is actually good in this world, please stop heaping praise on this piece of s— as a peacemaker,” said Oakland Observer columnist Jaime Omar Yassin.
Consultant and adjunct professor John V. Moore also knocked those who refused to support a Democrat over Trump.
“Racist convicted felon Trump is calling for the Palestinians to be relocated out of Gaza. Good job Uncommitted.”
