TV star Sandra Lee reveals home miraculously survived LA wildfires: ‘Could not believe my eyes’

American TV star and chef Sandra Lee has shared her relief that her Malibu home survived the devastating LA wild fires ravaging the area.

The personality, 58, known for the Netflix baking show Blue Ribbon Baking Championship, said she was “shocked and grateful” that her home was still standing.

Lee was one of the lucky ones, with numerous celebrities and locals losing their homes in the fires. 

When the fires took hold last week, she shared an Instagram video and said she had lost her home.

“I was able to go to Malibu late yesterday. It is with a heavy heart for my local community, yet the most shocked and grateful heart I share my home, Avalon- still stands,” Lee wrote in her post.

“I could not believe my eyes to be one of 10 in my neighbor of homes still there. I do not know how.”

She went on to say firefighters must have saved her home and she praised their efforts, adding she feels a little ”guilty” that her home survived.

“I can only assume it was the quick action of our firefighters. I’m in total disbelief. I feel guilty for being a part of a bubble of these homes spared,” she wrote.

“I have such sadness for the people who have lost their lives, and I grieve for the families who have lost their loved ones.

“There are no words to express my emotion as these fires still burn out of control.”

She then asked fans and followers to “say a prayer for LA,” and added: “For me, I will thank God every day.”

Last week, as the fires raged, she shared a video of herself holding back tears as she said she lost her house in the fires.

“I am truly grateful we are all safe. My house is gone-I cried all night and thought about every room, nook, and cranny. It was perfection and now it’s just ash,” she wrote in her post.

There are a number of stars who have devastatingly lost their homes in the wild fires, including Paris Hilton, Anna Faris, Mel Gibson, and Billy Crystal.

Actor James Woods thought he lost his home as well, but soon shared on X that his home was still standing.

He described it as a “miracle” and said: “We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing.”

When Harry Met Sally star, Billy Crystal, 76, confirmed in a statement that he and his wife Janice lost their Pacific Palisades home amid the fires, saying they were ”heartbroken” and adding: “Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can’t be taken away.”
